Anthony Khalil Hanna

PRODUCER

Anthony grew up on the Westside of Houston in a town called Katy, Texas. He attended a Private Academy where he fell in love with the arts. Theatre, music, and film all found a place in his life. Anthony loved to act. This led him to competing in the TAPPS duet and monologue competitions that placed in district, regional, and state. He continued his training with the West-Side Players under the direction of Duane Methvin as well as being trained in movement and performing arts with Steve Warn. It wasn’t just acting; he was involved in all facets of Production. From art design and set decoration to stage construction and production management he found himself involved from beginning to end.

As time progressed his passion for acting grew into an overwhelming desire to create. This sparked his move out of the theatrical world and into the realm of film making. Anthony began his career switch in 2006 after attending Texas State University where he was studying for his BFA supported by a program of general studies. Upon arriving in Los Angeles he began to make connections and friendships with the graduate students of the USC School of Cinematic Arts. He worked as an extra, pa, unit production manager, boom operator, 2nd assistant director, even as a principle actor for their projects, anything that would allow him to obtain the knowledge needed to become a successful filmmaker. He has also written and co-written a few screenplays since his arrival, one of which made it through the doors of Columbia Pictures.

His first major promotion came on the set of Meanwhile… where he worked as associate producer under the direction and production of Jerome Sable and Michael Montgomery. Meanwhile… was the recipient of the 2009 CCRFA (Coca Cola Refreshing Filmmaker Award). But even greater than the award was the start of one of the most harmonious partnerships and friendships of his career with writer/director/producer Michael Montgomery.
