CASTING DIRECTOR

A native Angeleno, M’saada Nia’s first experience as a casting director occurred while attending LA City College.  As part of its Film Production department, she cast student projects for her classmates. By being extremely organized, having previous experience as a performer and possessing a knack for recognizing great talent, M’saada discovered her skill for casting.  She fell in love with the process and began pursuing a career as a casting director.

M’saada has collaborated with a slew of established and emerging industry professionals, many of whom are alumni of UCLA, USC, AFI, Chapman and Cal State Long Beach.  She has also served as casting director on an array of SAG and non-union projects of varying genres.

Recently M’saada cast the comedic web series Thug Life, the first half of a double feature anthology film entitled Dark Room Theater and a music video for the band Live in L.A. In addition to her casting gigs, M’saada is a talented headshot photographer, and has over fourteen years of experience in various areas of production.

She feels her diverse professional background has enriched her understanding and appreciation of the filmmaking process.  M’saada’s extremely excited to be involved with the innovative project The Garden and enjoyed working with the talented filmmakers and amazing cast.
